Mary and Boniface Pope raised their nine children to understand the importance of treating people with warmth and respect. Two of their daughters, Laurie and Vicky, took that lesson and ran with it. After their father passed away, Laurie and Vicky, along with their siblings, stepped up to become their mother’s caregivers.
They wanted to make sure that she wasn’t lonely and isolated, because they found that when she was around other people, the quality of her life improved greatly. That’s why they built the Mar-Bon Social Club: to give seniors, like their mother Mary, a place to go where they can connect with new friends.

What does a Mar-Bon day look like?
What is a Mar-Bon day? Well, from the time you walk in until the time you leave, it is our job to make sure you have a wonderful day. That’s why it’s our slogan!
We don’t push you into participating in daily activities; instead, we give our members the freedom to build their day the way they choose. Do you have an idea for a program? Let us know! We want to give you the opportunity to share your passions and stories, to take the reins and teach our members new things.
Do you feel like being quiet? Watch a movie in our lounge or read a book in our library. Do you want to connect with some new friends? Join one of our daily activities!
Are you tired of eating a can of soup or a frozen meal for lunch? Join us around our table for a hot, home-cooked meal and even take home some leftovers.

Mar-Bon Social Club is not a medically staffed or memory care facility. All of our members must be able to move around on their own, whether they get around independently or use a walker, wheelchair, or cane. They also have to be able to use the restroom independently and administer their own medications.
